“We wanted your eye to go right to the center of the room where the crib would be and we are so happy with how it all came together!”

1 - How did you decide the color scheme for the room?

We wanted to go with a very different feel as this was our first boy after having 2 girls.  We wanted something that felt calming yet trendy.  We decided on a forest green accent wall with board and batten to give it a bit of character.  We wanted your eye to go right to the center of the room where the crib would be and we are so happy with how it all came together!

2- Tell us a little about the choices you made at Simply Nursery and what led you to make these choices?

We were looking for nursery furniture that was well made and fit our aesthetics.   We bought big box furniture for our first born and the quality was poor. It didn’t last and it has already been replaced.  Quality was very important to us when selecting our nursery pieces.  We also were drawn to the natural wood that went so well with our “woodsy” theme.  It really tied everything together.

3- Is there a specific feature or detail in the nursery that you think makes it unique?

One of my favorite pieces in the nursery is the beautiful side table that sits next to our rocking chair.  It is so beautiful, well made and practical!  The bottom has a cute little shelf for his books and it just makes the room not only practical but also beautiful.

4- How did you balance practicality and aesthetics in the nursery design?

Our nursery had to be functional.  The dresser with the changing table on top is perfect for those diaper days but can then be removed and used when he no longer needs the changing table function.  The side table is beautiful, yet practical for the coffee and water while I nurse and to hold his sound machine and little toys. And we love the crib. It’s not only the center piece of the nursery, he spends so much time in the crib and we want to ensure it is a safe and calming space for him!

5 - Based on your experience, what advice would you give to someone who is designing their nursery?

Invest in beautiful well-made pieces, like Simply Nursery, that can be used for all of your babies! The quality is unmatched and you want something that is going to be able to stand up to the wear and tear of kids!  Invest once and then you can enjoy the pieces for years to come!
